Preparing and CTC

Hi All,
I am planning to split my two dc into their own programs next year. DS will do Preparing while DD will do CTC. The problem I'm having is with the storytime selections. I will want to combine that aspect in order to save a little time. So, I would like some help in coming up with my own storytime selections. Let's start with the "do not misses" in the storytime section of each program. Then, maybe I can come up with a list that will work.
Thanks,
Deena

I am doing these two this year. We are no where near finished but I have a good feel for both programs. If I were wanting to combine story time I would do all of CTC and hit four books that I think are can't misses then let my kids do the rest in DITHR on their own. The four Preparing books I would not miss are The True Story of Noah's Ark, Tizrah, Triumph for Flavius, Fountain of Life. And I would read these and discuss them as written in Preparing. That is the most I could cut out without feeling like I was really missing out even though I feel like we would be a bit I would make sure I hit those. :D Hopefully those that are closer to done with CTC and or have finished Preparing can comment more.

One plus! I have those four books already :D
How are you going about doing Preparing and CTC. Do you have separate storytimes with your dc?
Thanks

I do it a little different. :D I have my oldest in CTC listen in on the story time and history in Preparing because she skipped Preparing and I still want her to get some of the information. Then she works on her own while I finish the rest of Preparing with my other kids. Then she comes back and we do the together reading in CTC together. It is not that huge a deal really. Some days we do CTC reading first thing in the morning. I just fit it in between those two places depending on how my day is going They come to me when they have to narrate their reading and show me their projects as they finish. At the end of the day I do a quick check to make sure everyone did their best. We are almost done with school today, at least I am pretty much done and we also did LHFHG. So it adds a bit to read all of CTC but it is less of a reading aloud load than Preparing. A lot of it really is independent. :D Let me know if that does not make sense or if you have more questions. It is very doable. :D
