We made the switch from Math U See to Singapore 1B last week and I had to share this story:

Yesterday my son (6yo) was completing a few pages in the workbook dealing with graphs. He was having so much fun filling in the statements about each graph that he was disappointed when I said we were done with math for the day. His reply was "Just one more page, please Mom?!" How could I say no to my son BEGGING for one more math page to complete ?! :D Of course I let him do one more page. Which meant this morning he had only one page to complete according to the schedule. He wasn't too happy about that...

Singapore is an awesome math program. I taught fourth grade in ps for eight years. Singapore has kids thinking about math very early on in the program. The program stresses mental math. It was very hard to teach my kids to think that way by the time they came to me. My ds is excelling in math, and I credit Singapore with that.
