Just lifting up a general prayer, please join me.

Wanted to lift up a general prayer over the board, HOD users and their families.

And also over the families that write and are involved in making HOD happen for us all each year. I know there are many of us that have uncertain and demanding health issues, some of us that have extreme stress in our home life, some that have so much on their plate it feels overwhelming. I know there are some that hs under extreme conditions of being out in the mission field or with a spouse away in the military. My prayer is that God would show to us all that He is a the God of peace, the God of contentment, the God of healing and that He is the God that created time and can orchestrate it in ways that are not possible without Him, and most importantly the God Who equips those that He calls. Praying that God would put protection over our families from the war and the tragedies in the world that we would be allowed to go on and fulfill the call He has given us to raise His children in His ways through homeschooling and in our family lives. Praying this in the name of Jesus and inviting any that feel led to join me.

Water2wine,
Your prayers are already being heard. What an encouragement your post is to me right now. Earlier today I had the opportunity to be at the bedside of my precious grandmother as the Lord called her home today. I will be spending some time with my mom making funeral arrangements this week.
We never know what concerns are going on with our fellow HOD friends. I will join you in praying. I know there are so many with far greater needs than me.
In His love,
Cindy

Oh Cindy I am so sorry for your loss. That is so hard. I am glad that you felt the prayers. I did just feel an overwhelming sense to pray so perhaps God did have that for you.

I will be praying for your family!

I know people will continue to pray for you. Thank you for joining me!

water2wine,
I'll join you today in praying as you are so right that we never know each person's needs, but the Lord does.

I am uplifting the families who are using HOD today and asking the Lord to be near unto each one of us as we walk through whatever is ahead of us.
3musketeers,
I am praying for you and your family upon the loss of your grandmother today. May the Lord be very near to you.
Blessings,
Carrie

I'm joining you in prayer today, too, Brenda! And praise!!
As you typed this Saturday morning, I was headed to the ER with Allison. She had appendicitis and we ended up taking her a little over an hour away for emergency surgery (as our surgeon in our little town was away for the weekend). We are so thankful that they were able to do the surgery before it ruptured, and the surgeon said it was close. AND we were so very thankful that this happened on a non-blizzard weekend when we were able to get out! Impassable roads have been a huge problem here this winter. Anyway, I just had to share another answer to your prayers this weekend! We're praising the Lord for a little girl on the mend! She has a pretty sore incision, but is on the move again today (s-l-o-w-l-y

).

Kathleen,
I am so sorry for your sweet daughter, Allison. I will be praying for her as she continues to heal. I also hope that you are feeling well. What a very scary experience. I'm glad to hear that the roads were good and the ER was quick in there response.

I want to thank everyone who has prayed for our family. We will be attending the funeral tomorrow. We have had to put school on hold this week for funeral planning, family, and helping my mom. I love homeschooling in that when the Lord brings these opportunities to minister to others, my children are right there experiencing it and helping as well. We will be glad to get back to our HOD day on Thursday.
I am continuing to pray for others. I agree with water2wine that there are so many families that are trying to be faithful in schooling their dc in very trying circumstances. I just want to pray for their endurance in the race that is set before us strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power.
By grace alone,
Cindy

I am praying as well - thank you Brenda for starting this! Also praying now for Cindy and Kathleen, for your dd!
I just prayed a very long prayer at lunch with our sons, and when we finished my toddler gave an exasperated "Amen" like "That was long, Mom!".

I'm sure it did feel long to a 2 yo, but we have a lot to pray for right now.
I told my dc this story after that: My grandma (my mom's mom) was totally blind, and as she got older she would sometimes get lost in her house, or be crawling on her hands and knees to find her way. This broke my mom's heart, but my grandpa was usually there to help and they longed to stay in their home together as long as possible. One day when my mom went to visit her, she found my grandma on her knees on the floor. She rushed to help her up and could see her knees were very red, and she'd been there a long time. When my mom asked her how long she'd been there, she said "an hour and a half". My mom hugged her and said, "Mom, I'm so sorry I wasn't here earlier to help you!" My grandma said, "Oh Marlene, I was praying! One thing you'll find... the older you get, the more there is to pray for, and that hour and a half just flew by." '
Isn't that true? Thank you for being prayer warriors here. It is such an important thing to do, and there is always so much to pray for. I'm glad to be in the company of ladies such as yourselves as we pray.
In Christ,
Julie

Kathleen,
I just wanted to let you know we're praying for Allison's recovery and for your family too!

I'm praising the Lord with you that you were able to get her to the surgery before her appendix ruptured. The appendix surgery is a bigger deal than we thought when Beau had to have his taken out. We'll be asking for the Lord to surround you as Allison heals.
Blessings,
Carrie
