HOD makes "it" happen!

Yesterday was all about school. On Mondays, my ds has a 2 1/2 gym class, so whatever isn't done by 11:30, probably isn't getting done that day! He had trouble sleeping the night before, so I let him sleep in as long as he needed. We only got one subject done. So that meant getting nearly two full days of school in on Tuesday. It was a lot to do, but as I look back on it today, it was still enjoyable and profitable. I honestly don't think that there is another curriculum out there that would have gone so smoothly for both of us. I just feel so blessed to use HOD with my kiddies. The emphasis on character traits is something that I am able to refer to throughout the day as circumstances arise. I love the hymn study. We are learning "Amazing Grace" right now. Yesterday, my ds asked me how grace could cause fear and then relieve fear. We had a wonderful discussion about how grace first makes us aware of our sinfulness and our hopeless state before God and then relieves our fears as we trust the Savior and take on his righteousness. That conversation most likely wouldn't have happened yesterday if I wasn't using HOD. Thank you, Carrie, for your God-touched programs that are rich, full, interesting, and Godly. I am so happy to be here.

Laura - What an excellent conversation to have with your ds! For your ds to ask that question, and for you to respond with such faith, just shows both you and your ds are doing such a good job of walking with the Lord. I agree we have conversations ordained by the Lord that truly would not have happened if we weren't honoring Him by using a Christ-centered curriculum like HOD. The hymns are a treasure that is being lost somewhat these days, so I am so glad your ds thought to ask more and ponder what you shared. I'm also glad you are working on your relationship with the Lord and responding to teachable moments like that, Laura. God is surely at work in your home and in your son's precious heart! And, getting 2 days of school done in one quite easily while still managing to enjoy the day overall - that is cause for celebration too. Thanks so much for encouraging me today! :D

In Christ,
Julie
