Just had to share what Lydia said this morning...
"Mom, I LOVE Bird of the Air. It is the best book ever and the pictures are sooo beautiful!"
"Oh, no, we are almost done with our history book. I don't want it to be done!"
Thanks, Carrie. Oh, and we are baking our cookie dough statue today. That is one history project we are all wanting a bite out of. Hee hee.

Thank you for sharing Lydia's happy comments about CTC.

Wyatt too is loving Birds of the Air; in fact, he just finished giving a very good oral narration of it to me. It is a very living book and lends itself so well to narrations. Likewise, just as Lydia loves the history books, so does Wyatt - he also loves the History Interest Storytime books so much.

In fact, it's always with a mixture of sadness to say goodbye to a book we finished and anticipation as we say hello to a new wonderful book. This is such a good time for Carrie to receive encouragement as she is writing the next guide already, and positive words on boards can be important fuel for spurring her on. Give Lydia a cyber hug from me and let her know her words were an encouragement today!
In Christ,
Julie

We just finished The True Story of Noah's Ark today (Preparing with my daughter) and we feel the same way. The books are so great, and it is bittersweet to see them end.

Daisy,
Thanks so much for sharing! Tell Lydia that it blessed my heart today, as I'm hard at work on RTR.

I loved the cookie dough statue activity too.
Blessings,
Carrie

Daisy,
How awesome and inspiring to hear that from your daughter!
I would have to say that you and Lydia have certainly have found a great fit with HOD!
Call me kooky but, I find it so satisfying and heartwarming when I know my daughter makes some wonderful connections with books, as your daughter has.
Oh, by the way, how was the cookie dough statue???
