Illustrated Family Bible vs. Illustrated Children's Bible

Hi all,
I own the DK Illustrated Children's Bible and am wondering how it compares with the DK Illustrated Family Bible? Does anyone know?

Is the DK Illustrated Children's Bible by Selina Hastings? If so, I can compare the two a bit for you as we did compare that one to the one we ultimately chose.

We did really like the DK Bible by Selina Hastings as well and spent a long time comparing the two. We found that the major differences between the two Bibles were the difficulty level of the stories and the length of the stories, the amount of historical details and factual sidebars provided, and how directly each corresponded to Scripture. The illustrations were also a factor with one being softer and the other more vivid.
The Bible we chose instead of the Hastings version is more detailed in its content - having a more grown-up feel. It has more historical facts and sidebars provided for each story and is taken more directly from the Scriptures (noting which verse exactly each portion of the retelling comes from within the Bible). It also provides additonal notes as sidebars on portions of the referenced Scriptures.
I'm not sure how much work it would take to correspond the Hastings version with the plans in CTC. Typically, we would recommend either using the DK Illustrated Family Bible or reading the referenced Scriptures provided within the CTC plans instead. This is because the Scriptures/stories are keyed to match the history readings as often as possible.

Just as a side note on the Illustrated Family bible topic ...
I found a copy of The Jubilee illustrated Family Bible (on bargain table at local book chain) and so far all page numbers and such match up with the readings in the CTC guide. We will begin unit 12 after the holidays, so we still have a ways to go, but so far it has worked perfectly. I do not know if there are any differences in this edition than in the Illustrated Family bible except the fact that this one is not published by DK under that brand name (hence a cheaper price). The illustrations are full vivid color and the info in the side bars has matched with the guide, as well as page numbers to be read as I mentioned earlier.

How interesting! I'm so glad you're getting to enjoy the Bible in CTC. My son is loving it too. I found the historical facts in the sidebars so interesting!
