OT Prayer for ....

Post by rainbowacreshs » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:25 pm

Some of you may have read my other posts asking for prayer, and again I ask for more prayer.
Over the course of the last two weeks my mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She is 71. The doctor is optimistic that this can be curable, if..we move hard and fast. The cancer is located on the outer wall of her right lung and is about the size of a dime. After a pet scan it has been found the cancer is at this time only in that spot. We will be moving my mother in over the course of the next few weeks or sooner pending on when they will do the surgery--which may be as early as next week. Chemotherapy and radiation will follow over the course of 6months to a year...

I know God is in control, even though I'm not. Yet I'm feeling so lost on what to do next. I keep telling myself, one day at time. I'm not sure how our homeschooling will be affected, as it is we started in August and are only on week 11 of CTC. I'm considering slowing down to half speed and extending her 7th grade year an extra year. I'm hoping that would allow for the extra time it will take to take my mother to the appts, and the care that will be needed in days following the surgery.

We desparetly need a new home, and have tried 4 different times over 2 years to put a new home on the property we live on. My husbands credit isn't the best. We can't move because the home we are in won't sell for what we need, nor can we just walk from it.

At this point, we will give my mom the toddler's bedroom and move Tiffy into our bedroom. We don't want to ask Kasey to share her room, she's a teen..she deserves her space and privacy, especially as Tiffy is definitly in that "sticky fingers" stage.

I realize I'm venting..I know I should be counting blessings instead of airing out complaints....

I tell myself that the blessings are more time w/ my mom... the children will have grandma to read them stories...memories and time that could and never can be bought....

Please, keep our family in prayer...

Suggestions for organization or a plan to juggle homeschool between elderly care would very much appreciated, but most of all prayer.

Jasmine,

I will keep you, your sweet mother and your family in my prayers.
I know how difficult it is to truly and fully trust in God's plan and His desire to have you lay everything upon Him.
I pray that your heart will feel peace and that you are able to take comfort in knowing that He will truly work everything out according to His perfect plan.

Trust in Him,
Candice :D

Jasmine,
I have two sweet friends that have been through the same ordeal just in the past few years that you are going through right now. I would encourage you that the things that have eternal value are not what this world has on the agenda. I think your mom is a very precious part of you and your family. Take the time off from school that you need and let your family minister to her guilt free. For her value is worth far more than math or copywork. Your children will be learning heavenly lessons. You can fit in school when you feel like it. Kiddos are very resilient and can do some catching up later.

Your family will be in our prayers for healing for your mom and the Lord's comfort as he leads you through this very hard ordeal. We will also pray for your adjustments to the new living arrangements and that if He desires, that He will open doors for a new home.

Thank you for sharing so that we can minister to you right now.

Jasmine,
I've been praying for you and your family since you wrote this post. At some point I'll send a PM. We homeschooled through something similar a couple of years ago. It is so tough when you are in the trenches, but keep looking to the Lord, and allow people to minister to you and your family (even when it's hard).
With prayers and a hug,
