Just started Tirzah

Post by playschool » Mon Oct 26, 2009 12:04 pm

I thought my kids would not like this book. I was so surprised to find my kids listening pretty intently while I started this book for the first time with them today. Even my ds who, it seems, does not like to listen to books read to him seemed to really like it. I asked them how if they enjoyed it today, after our reading, both children said that they did. I thought they would tell me "BORING", they did not at all. Even my 6-year-old seemed to listen toward the end of the reading today.

We also went over Abram being called by God out of Ur today. That seemed so timely because our pastor has been preaching about the life of Abram over the last month or 2 so it just reinforced to my dd who sits in church with me all that she is hearing her pastor preach. (ds and other dd are in children's church). I'm sure God planned it that way. I just wanted to share those things.

Isn't it amazing the connections we can make between God and our lives when we are looking for them? That is so awesome! Tirzah just keeps getting better and better. In fact, my ds took it to his room after we finished reading it and read it 3 times. He just popped in the kitchen and read this and said he's reading it again now. I guess it's safe to say he likes it! I'm glad your dc are too. :)

We're currently reading Tirzah too. Funny, my ds 8 always yells, "NO!" and then listens intently along with older ds 11 & 12. I was befuddled as to why he does then when it just hit me as to why he was doing that.... It's because it's main character is a girl and he's very allergic to girls right now! He really does like it! We are very much enjoying Preparing this year!
