experiencing the flexibility of HOD

Post by creekmama » Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:09 pm

Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying the flexibility of HOD. After six weeks of school, we took a little break due to dh's crazy work schedule followed by some much needed vacation time. So for a couple of weeks we just sort of went half speed. Did some phonics daily, caught up on a few boxes we hadn't gotten around to, etc. Well, when we went back to full speed today, I expected a bit of a struggle. Didn't happen! After the usual grumbling about phonics, ds5 was happy to get back to it. Loved the dramatic play today!

The flexibility is great. Don't you love the dramatic play in LHFHG? My dc loved it so much and we are missing the Thorton Burgess story time. Our story time this year is nice too, but there is just something special about those animal stories and acting them out :)

I agree, Kelley! :D I've had some off days this week too, and picking it back up today felt just as natural and normal as could be. My kids didn't skip a beat, and neither did I. I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying this flexibility too! :D
