Hi - just wondering if someone could give me an idea of the words used in the spelling lists in Bigger? Is the list the same as List 2 in Beyond? What is an example of the dictation used in Bigger?
Thanks for your help! Nicole
Spelling List for Bigger
Re: Spelling List for Bigger
Hi Nicole! Here's are some past links in which I typed spelling and dictation samples. BHFHG has Spelling LIst 2 in the Appendix:

BHFHG has Level 2's Dictation in the Appendix:

The idea is to master these concepts. So, spelling words should be able to be spelled 100% correctly, and dictation should be able to be completed 100% accurately. This is different from the idea that if dc miss a spelling word or two, it's too easy and they should be doing something harder. Same thought with dictation - if anything is missed - punctuation, capitalization, indentation, spelling - then it needs to continue to be studied - rather than the thought that if they miss a thing or two each time it's too easy. This kind of CM thinking is different from how I used to view spelling especially, as I though if dc missed one or two, that was great, and maybe we should do something harder. I share all this just in case this thought is new to you as it was to me.
Plus, the spelling activities are awesome and higher level within themselves. The dc write sentences using spelling words, showing they understand how to use them contextually, etc. HTH!
In Christ,
Julie

Re: Spelling List for Bigger
Thankyou so much Julie! This really has helped me so much! I have been wondering whether I should be doing Beyond or Bigger next year with my dd7, and now that I have seen these dictation & spelling lists, I am pretty sure she will be on Bigger. We are on Singapore 2A&B next year anyway, and we weren't going to use the TM for any of the history, just pretty much the Maths & the LA. Thanks Julie! It must take up a lot of your spare time answering questions on here, but you really are a wonderful help!!

Thanks Nicole!
I am so glad to have helped.
I feel that this is one way I can try to achieve God's purpose in my life, and it is wonderful ladies like you that provide encouragement for me to do that. I'm glad you're finding some peace in deciding what will best fit your dc next year.
In Christ,
Julie
