Couldn't wait - started LHTH today impromptu

I was overseeing the semi-independent parts of Beyond and CTC today, and my little one was hopping all over wanting my attention. He was doing his "patty-cake" and "head and shoulders" rhymes (getting about every other word right

), and I thought, "What am I waiting for? He's dying to do LHTH."
So, I pulled it out and did half of Day 1. He LOVED it!

He was strutting around shouting, "A, A, Adam" and doing all of the animals from the fingerplay, having a great time. He kept shouting, "Emmie do
more school, mom!!!!" It was just too cute. I was going to start in January, but I don't think either of us can wait that long. I think I'll go half-speed. I have both Bibles, so I think I'll read from the easier Bible first, do the Fingerplay, the letter activity, and the Bible activity the first day (that's what we did today). Then the second day, I'll read from the harder Bible, repeat the Fingerplay and review the letter flashcard, and then do the remaining boxes (music and rotating box) I haven't done yet. I can tell this is going to fill a need I'm having right now. I'll still have him do the Lakeshore boxes and Kumon books for fun the other mommy time I have planned, but I can see he's going to flourish with LHTH. It was just such a great day - I had to share it with you all!
In Christ,
Julie

Yeah the youngest little HODie! He just wants to be in all the fun the big guys are getting.

Can't blame him.

My 5 year old asked me the other day when I had the HOD programs up if we could go back and do LHTH becasue she missed it.

If only we could. They just grow too fast. Enjoy your precious LHTH time with your sweetie!

So glad to hear of your first day HODing three

Your little guy sounds so adorable and enthusiastic. Wish we'd known about HOD back in the days when we had preschoolers, but thankful to be blessed by it now!

Go, Julie!!
I can totally picture the fun times that you and Emmet are having! I think your plan sounds like a great one. I bet he is excited to get in on the fun! (And actually, I bet his big brothers are just as excited to relive LHTH through him.)

Thanks for celebrating with me, gals!

I posted about it in the weekly check-in, but I'll just say here that the next days to follow continued to be a happy fit for my little guy.
In Christ,
Julie

Ok, Julie you are inspiring me

.
I have been struggling on whether to start my youngest ds (just turned 4). What you said about your ds's need for some structured mommy time and your need to have someone else do the planning of that time has struck a chord here. I have been in the same boat since September and have tried to wait on LHTH. He is more than ready. I am not going to worry today what year lines up with what grade for tomorrow.

We will take it at his speed and go! So Julie, I am following your lead and waiting no longer. Yea!!!! I'll pop back in on weekly updates and let everyone know how it goes.

Oh, that's great! I bet your little sweetie will love it just like my little guy!
