HOD has been such a blessing!

I was just reading through some freebies I downloaded from currclick.com and was thinking how thankful I was for having Heart of Dakota!
We started considering homeschooling several months ago, I spent a lot of time looking at different stuff online, so overwhelming! Someone recommended Heart of Dakota, I was so thrilled with everything I saw! We went to FL homeschool convention, looked at TONS of stuff and when DH and I sat down at the end of the day, I pulled out the little HOD catalog and said....nothing else measures up! I really wanted something I could use for both K & 1st grade....everyone else told me I couldn't do it with their curriculum....
We are on Unit 7 of LHFHG. My girls (6, 5, & 3) love it! It has been so easy to tweak it to fit our family. Due to financial circumstances, I have gone back to work as an RN and DH does school 1-2 days a week. It is fairly easy for me to write everything out for him the day before and then he follows the boxes I worked Thursday night; he asked the girls if they wanted to do something fun on Friday (of course!) so they jumped in after supper and did their school for the next day. Friday morning they took a picnic and played in the fountains.
My daughters told me this week they are glad we are homeschooling; DD #1 said she didn't like waiting for someone to pick her up after school! I am glad we are involved in what our children are learning. The lessons are so short and simple; they don't get bored. I am amazed at what all they are learning. They were singing the Rhymes in Motion from Unit 1 while playing outside the other day. Even our 3 year old is trying to say the Bible verses.
I know others that have really struggled with homeschooling and feel blessed that everything has gone so smoothly for us. DH has commented several times that he is thankful that I researched it out and found what would really work for our family instead of just going with what"everyone else did!"
Thank you Carrie for pouring your time and energy into this! Julie, I love your devotional too
Blessings!
