Unit 2 - our art didn't work, help!

We did the Unit 2 art project where we traced a fish onto a layer of wax paper that transferred to art paper. We tried both sides of the waxpaper and one finished painting is only slightly better than the other. Neither show a definite shape of a fish. Do you think it's our cheap wax paper? We made sure our paper was very wet and followed all directions carefully. Any suggestions?

I remember that art box. It didn't work out for us either. I ended up drawing fish with a white crayon and painting with watercolors. I included my little ones in on the art project.

Thanks!
Yep, after I wrote the post the same thought came to me. My dh and I were discussing the fact that wax paper is not as thick as it used to be and probably has less wax on it nowadays. Many paper products are much different than they used to be. We purchased index cards for Bigger and they are sooooo flimsy that my daughter's pencil marks show right through to the other side of the "card" (I use the word card loosely). The reverse side of her index cards look embossed.

cozyfamily,
I'll move this post over to the main board, so more moms will see it. All new posts begin on the Main Board.
I was thinking back to when we did this project, and we pushed pretty hard on our waxed paper to get it to make a waxy outline on our paper.
Blessings,
Carrie
