OT another prayer request

Post by holyhart » Tue Sep 15, 2009 8:45 pm

I just got back from the ER with Lillian. Seems my little pumkin' got herself a stomach virus resulting in all day vomitting. She ended up dehydrated which is why we were at the ER.

They gave here some anti-nausea meds and then had me feed her a teaspoon at a time of pedialite every 5 minutes. It was horrible. She was so hungry/thirsty by that point that she screemed and cried the entire 5 minutes inbetween sips. Mama cried right along with her. Eventually we got her rehydrated enough to come home and she is now sleeping. She still hasn't had a wet diaper (since sometime this morning).

Please pray that the stomach bug goes away as quickly as it came and that we don't have to bring her back to the hospital. In the morning I have to do the slow sips to start the day to make sure she can keep it down. Should be fun.

Thank you.

Praying feverently for your little one. With two children sick now here with possible swine flu, I know the feeling. My heart goes out to you!

Kelly - I'm praying for you and little Lillian! How exhausted you must be. I'm hoping that she's on the mend now (and no one else got it!). I really DO NOT like dealing with puking, so my heart goes out to you.

Rebecca - I'm praying for you and your little guys right now, too. I'm sure that possible swine flu is not what your heart wanted to hear right now. I'm praying that God's peace will protect your heart as you trust in Him. And as you take care of your sick ones.

Praying right now for your little ones.

Praying that the stomach flue for Lillian would subside and she would be able to get fluid and nourishment.

Rebecca praying for your little ones. Praying that they will quickly be well and that their case will be mild.

I know their are other families that are struggling with strep throat and I am praying for those families as well.

It's so hard when our little ones are sick. Praying God would put His healing hand on your children and bring you peace and strength while you tend to them.
All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13

holyhart,

I'm praying for your little sweetie. Beau was hospitalized with dehydration when he was two, so I can empathize with you! I'm praying your little honey will keep her fluids down and stay hydrated. :D

On a sidenote, my family is just now fully recovered from the swine flu, which we all had to varying degrees (except Beau who had strept throat instead). I know how exhausting sick kiddos can be and often pray for strength as we go through our day. I know that many families deal with lifelong illnesses and medical difficulties and am reminded by our heavenly Father when we have sick kiddos in our own family of the need for compassion for others. I am so grateful for good doctors and medicine, but even more thankful for the blessing of being comforted by our heavenly Father. I will pray for you to be comforted too. :)

Blessings,
Carrie

How is your little one doing?

Carrie, I had no idea you were battling swine flu too. We assume that is what we had since it passed, not only to all of us, but to two other people who were exposed to us briefly on the day my younger son got sick. I have never seen a virus go through that many people before without skipping even one. We never did get tested, though, so I could be wrong. I am certainly hoping it was swine flu and we are all over it for this season!

Thank you ladies for your prayers. I am truly thankful for them.

Lillian seems to be doing better now, but it has been a long week. The vomiting has stopped (as well as no more dyhydration PRAISE THE LORD! \o/). However the diarrhea is still lingering (I know....gross...sorry!), but is starting to not be quite so liquid-y (I KNOW....even more gross!) And no fevers!

It could have been worse. Lillian came down with salmonella on Mother's day this year. It was truly horrible!  Two solid weeks of high fevers, vomiting and diarrhea. And it wasn't the swine flu. Not to mention, that no one else became sick, so I will be thankful.

Carrie, I'm sorry to hear you and your family were so sick. I know how hard it is to be a sick mama and try to still care for all the littles. I'm glad you are all on the mend now though.

I recently just read of a tea that helps to build immunity. It is also reported to help prevent swine flu promote a faster recovery for those who already have the swine flu. It is called tulsi tea (or holy basil). Here is the link if anyone want to read more about it. http://www.thenourishinggourmet.com/200 ... oster.html I just bought some of the tea yesterday at our local food co-op. They might sell it in larger grocery stores that carry a good organic supply. It is also on Amazon. I saw the concentrated capsuls of it as well, but those were more than my budget would allow. I imagine that they would have even more immunity boosting qualities however.
