How much clay will I need for Preparing and Little Hearts?

Hi!
I've seen the threads that we need clay in unit 4 for Preparing. I am going to buy some crayola air dry clay and I was wondering how much clay I will need for this year? We are also doing LHFHG with my dd and will I need clay for her too? Does anyone know if that crayola clay lasts more than a year?

So, if I'm doing Preparing and LHFHG, how much clay is needed this year?

Thanks! :D
Michelle

I don't have an answer for your question, but just thought I'd tell you that it is SO easy to make just when you need it. That's what I did for Week 4 Preparing this week. I used a cornstarch recipe (posted the link)... simple and cheap! Just have cornstarch and salt on hand...

I think I had a couple boxes on hand of the modeling clay sticks last year when we did PHFHG and LHFHG, and that was more than enough. I reused it sometimes though - which was easy to do. We just kept it in a ziplock. I just stocked up on a few boxes of it again yesterday from Miller Pads and Paper. They said it would already arrive today! It was inexpensive as well - we bought all of our CTC painting supplies there, and I was thrilled with both the quality and the prices. Here's a link to the modeling clay in case you are interested:
