Preparing Timeline

Is there any reason to not use a timeline notebook vs. doing the staired index cards?

I have a timeline notebook I bought from Sonlight a few years ago...and it's just sitting. I thought I might as well put it to good use.

Any reason not to? Wasn't sure if there was something down the road later in Preparing that would cause issues if I didn't do the staired one on the back of the schoolroom door.

Thx!

Oh man, just saw an accordian time line over in the projects board...I think we'll do that. I'll save the notebook for when we are doing figures more than events...not sure. Maybe do both if we need something to do during down time.

I don't know that I've ever seen a timeline notebook, but we're very happy with the accordian style one we're doing!

I bought the Sonlight timeline book too, and used it briefly early on. I liked the staircase timeline better because my ds could see it all at a glance without flipping between pages. It helped him see the flow of history well. :D In fact, we still have it hanging on the closet door, and he still refers to it when placing things that happened in history. It may be a permanent fixture on the closet - until our second ds does PHFHG that is!
