LHFHG Unit 10 Day 5 (Something we did to go along with)

Post by 1GirlTwinBoys » Sun Sep 06, 2009 9:37 am

After reading Alexander The Great to my children on the front porch swing, we took one of their stuffed horses out to the court and placed it facing towards AND away from the sun. This really helped them understand the story and how the horse could see his shadow when he was facing away from the sun vs. towards it. It somehow made it "click" in their little heads and made it more fun. :P

that is interesting.... it has been a while since i did that unit with my son, but i distinctly remember doing the same thing you did. it did help explain how the horse could see his shadow. cool!

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to remember that when we get to unit 10 in a couple weeks!

How cute! :D I love the image of your kiddos on the porch swing with the stuffed horse doing "school" too! :D

Blessings,
