I am pleased to announce that my 10 year old is doing wonderful in Preparing We had actually Purchased it last year and I gave up too quickly , thinking it was just too much for him. We ended up just focusing on Language Arts and Math.
Originally, I was going to order Bigger for him this year and combine him with my 7 year old. However, I kept being drawn to the Preparing Guide and books that were on my shelf. We decided to use the Preparing guide(we had only completed 2 full weeks and began week 3 last year). All I can say is WOW! He loves it! WE are still going half speed, but we are gradually picking up the pace. By November or December, maybe even sooner, I can see him at full speed. He's not quite fully independent with the Science yet. I have to place numbers on each step of the directions so that he doesn't get overwhelmed.
Also, my husband is home with us one day during our school week. This week, he and my son did the History Project and the Science together on his day off. They had a great time! My son is so proud of his clay map and his desert cactus(unit 4).
My husband is amazed at how the Bible is so interwoven throughout their day. I really do believe that it was the Holy Spirit that kept leading me back to my Preparing manual on my shelf
For my 7 year old dd, completing LHFHG with her(using higher level LA and Math). She is on the upper end of the age range, so we are moving at a faster pace with the History, Science, and Bible. We will probably move into Beyond in January. She is actually ready for Beyond right now, I just want her to finish the LHFHG History before going into BLHFHG. This also gives me time to save up the $.
Thanks so much to all of you who gave advice and prayed for us during our decision making process.
As my kiddo's would put it "You ladies are the Bomb" LOL
