Possible ADHD Child help

Hello ladies,

I have been reading alot of posts on here by moms who have children with suspected ADHD. I too have a son whom I suspected had ADHD, but never had been diagnosed because he's never been in anything other than homeschool. I began inspecting ingredients in everything he was consuming...things that I thought were healthy...and I discovered the ingredient "Red 40" in many packaged products, even those which are supposedly healthy. I removed that from his diet and he is a different child. Still wiggly and energetic, but able to control himself much better. I just wanted to share so maybe it can help someone out there.

Thank you so much for this invaluable info! I have heard of this "Red 40" before, but to read this post about your results is encouraging. Our son-7yo-was thought to be ADD when in public school for awhile. It is amazing how even good pediatricians and professionals just "jump" to this conclusion. That was the case with our son. I learned that there are about 8-10 other conditions that mimic the symptoms of ADHD. I know I'm partial, but our son is a great kid who just cannot seem to focus! In fact, in homeschooling he cannot deal with "lectures" ( even 3 minute ones)! When I teach it is like he needs it to be a dialogue, not a monologue, which I happen to agree with him on!! That was part of the problem in ps--he was wanting the teacher's lectures to be a conversation! Anyway, I'm rambling, but I wanted to thank you and let you know that I am going to try this approach!! It is nice to know that you've helped someone else when you've shared what you've learned---and you have helped me!! Take care, and praying for the continued blessing in your new findings with your son.

With Thanks,

Liz
