Great first day

Post by cdrx4 » Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:56 pm

I just want to tell you how well our first day went. :D We started at 9 and ended at 12:05 and that was with a 20 minute outside break in between! :o Now I realize it wont be like that everyday, but it made the first day a breeze! Things really worked out with juggling LHFHG and BHFHG, although I have not added in DITHOR yet. Tomorrow is more "crafty" type stuff for my dd who is doing LHFHG and she is excited!
However, with the first day, I do have a couple of questions... :?:
1. Are there any worksheets that go with the RME? When I ordered, I only received the manual, but not a workbook or anything...just dont know if there is something else I should be doing?
2. Tomorrow we start science notebooking....is there a specific sheet or outline I should use that has writing lines and a place to draw also? Just asking....
Thank you for all the prayers and thank you for HOD for being such a wonderful program:)
Blessings... :D :D

Wonderful! I'm so glad your first day went great! Many more good days are ahead. :D I'm not sure about the worksheets for RME - I know my oldest sister didn't use any worksheets. She just uses the RME guide and what's written in that. She loves it! For science, they write it on their own in BHFHG, to further solidify the scientific method in their minds. In PHFHG, there's a form to copy. HTH!

In Christ,

I'm not sure if you received this reply on a different thread, so I'll repost it here just in case:

cdrx4,

I'm so glad that your first day went well! That is something to celebrate.

As far as your questions go, the worksheets for Reading Made Easy have to be ordered separately, as they are on a separate CD. Here's a link to that CD (scroll down to see the worksheet CD): http://www.heartofdakota.com/independent-reader.php

As far as the science goes, for notebooking we just used typing paper. If your child needs the ruled lines to write on, you may consider cutting off the bottom part of a lined sheet of loose-leaf paper and having your child copy on that. Then, you can glue the sheet to the top of the typing paper, and the child can sketch below it. Just a thought.

Blessings,
Carrie
