Our first day with Bigger Hearts . . .

was great! We finished everything in just under 3 hours. This included LA from Preparing for my older dd. We haven't started DITHOR yet--we'll be starting it next week. And dd hasn't started math yet--we're waiting for Teaching Textbooks 6 to be delivered. All in all, it went really well--they enjoyed all of it and were happy it didn't take forever to get finished. My dd is not sure yet how she feels about Rod & Staff English, but I think it will be OK. Just a lot different from what we've done in the past.

Anyway, just wanted to share!

We started Bigger last week at 1/2 pace- We LOVE it, too! I'm soo grateful that God led us to HOD! We will start full speed next week- We'll have to compare stories. ( FYI-We just moved from Yukon to TX last year- We love and miss OK!)

Glad you had a great day! 3 hours sure was fast! We are doing extensions and I add some stuff (Spanish, Writing, Art, Typing) so our days with Bigger last about 4.5 hours on a longer day. Occasionally, a Friday will be shorter. We do CLE for Math and LA. I know that when my younger son does Bigger next year, it will take much less time because we will do it more as written without so many extras and no extensions.

DITHR is my absolute favorite part of the day! I actually find myself reading my son's daily assigned chapters after he is in bed so I can keep up with the story and very actively engage with him in the lessons.

You are a pro - off to a smooth start and running! Way to go, Sheila! Bigger Hearts was such a growing year for my ds - it's when I began thinking of him as a "big boy" and began counting how many years I have left with him - already wishing there were more. Keep cruising with Bigger, it keeps getting better and better.
