Bible lessons in LHFHG?

One of the things I love most about HOD is the bible. I feel my boys are getting the best I can offer them in terms of building a basis for a personal relationship with Christ. That's what I want for them more than anything of course.
I wondered in LHFHG if I am going to need to add a devotional/bible lesson the program if I want a daily bible based devotion? If so, any suggestions?
It seems different than the other programs in the daily bible lessons to me--is it?

Hello,
We just started LHFHG last week. My son loved the devotion time, but we soon noticed it wasn't an everyday thing with the curriculum schedule. Since he enjoyed it so much, we did indeed add devotion each day. That was just our own personal choice.
This week, I think we (me, my husband, and our son) are going to incorporate Bible devotion around dinner time also with a child's devotional we have (not the one provided with HOD). I think it will be fun for our son and a good learning time for all of us.
Enjoy your school year! : )

Are you doing another program, too? We're going to do the bible from Bigger with everyone at the breakfast table, I think.

We loved the bible time and activites in LHFHG. We do devotionals every night with daddy anyway, so if the devotional wasn't scheduled for that day we didn't add any as far as "school time". However once we got to the part of history that no longer used the bible as the history text, we continued to read the bible as the beginning of our school time. We just started back at the beginning of the Family Time Bible since my kiddos really really liked that one.

I don't think you need any extras but since I am the queen of extras
I will say that Leading Little Ones To God is an excellent one. We did part of it with LHFHG and will continue with Beyond. The lessons can be a bit on the longer side sometimes so we either broke them up or added when we had extra times.

I love the Bible in HOD, and each year continues to tug more and more at our dc's hearts - as well as gives us more and more opportunities to share our own faith with our dc in a personal way. I didn't add any devotions to LHFHG and felt what we were doing was just right for us at that time. However, I don't think we can ever have too much of God in our day, so if you have the time and the desire, why not add more?
In the past, we've enjoyed reading through "Egermeir's Bible" together. We've also enjoyed going through "The Right Choices" with our dc. We are doing Answer's in Genesis' "The Answers Book for Kids" at night right now. It's a 4 volume set and is wonderful. Have fun choosing how to add more of God to your day!
In Christ,
Julie

Egermeir's Bible That is another thing we do as well. I do a chronological read through the Bible with my other kids and I have used this Bible to match where we are in our study. Also have used the Answers for Kids with my older kids and agree they are wonderful. And I am ignoring the other thing Julie wrote becasue I am sure it is great too but my shelves are full. hahahaha! But since I have the Answers for Kids that might be something great to add to Beyond, hehehe!

Thank you for the suggestions everyone!
We're in a unique situation in that daddy comes home briefly mid-morning for "brunch" and then goes back to work for the day. I've been starting our LHTH lessons with him together with the bible and it's been so great for our family. Then after he returns to work we go on with our day. So it's worked terrific for LHTH (we're doing two lessons a day with my 5 year old boys along with some additions for K work) and I want something to continue a daily family devotional type time.
I'll look into the suggestions! Thank you!
