We have just completed our first week of LHFHG. I am loving this program, but I have a question about science, The World God Made.

Why does LHFHG not go in order of Creation?
Why are the experiments and activities in The World God Made different from LHFHG?

Thanks,
Amy

I think because she's trying to tie it into the history/Bible portions of the program. :D

Amy,

Since the CLP science book is a textbook, we use it as a reference book, rather than as a storybook to read through. So, we use it to read a bit more about a topic explored within history or within the science activity for the day. It is used as you would an encyclopedia or any other reference book (except it has a Bible-based perspective). If desired, you could easily read through the book as bedtime reading, and then pull it out and read the corresponding reference pages on the matching day of LHFHG. :D

We deeply desired to link history and science together at this young age, so kiddos would see God as the Creator and the maker of history all in one. For our kiddos, it made more sense to have connections among topics, rather than treating each subject as a separate discipline. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks, Carrie. That is what I figured. I will just revamp our schedule to add in more of the science lessons. We LOVE science.

Blessings!
