What is the difference between The Young Christian's Introduction to the Bible used in Preparing and a Bible Handbook like
What the Bible is All About for Young Explorers by Henrietta Mears? Are they similar? Also, what are your reasons for choosing the Young Christian's Intro. to the Bible? I can't seem to find it anywhere but here.
Thanks,
Deena

Deena,
The Young Christian's Introduction to the Bible is a very concise, narrative overview that explains why God's word is perfectly true and how it was preserved by God through time so that we can read His words today. It is not a reference for kiddos to refer to as they read their Bibles, but rather addresses the questions that kiddos (and adults) have about God's word and how it came to be written.
It serves a different purpose than a Bible handbook.
Blessings,
Carrie

Love that about this book! It seems to be simply written enabling my youngest one doing Preparing to be able to read it easily, yet definitely not too childish for my oldest 2 ( 6 & 7 grade) and even for me as an adult! In fact, I am finding it to be a phenomenal yet simple resource to understanding the Bible.

What is the reading schedule for the Young Christian's Introduction to the Bible in Preparing? Do they read portions of it weekly? How is the reading broken up. The reason I'm asking is that we are doing the left side of Bigger + story time because we haven't had Am. History. We are probably going to skip Preparing and go straight into CTC next year. So, I would like to purchase a couple things from Preparing that just can't be missed. We are already planning on reading Grandpa's Box. So, should I purchase The Young Christian's Intro., too? Is it worth it?

My ds learned a lot from it last year and enjoyed telling me all about what he'd read. It made the Bible much clearer for him, and I wouldn't have wanted him to miss it. I'd get it, but that's just my 2 cents.
In Christ,
