Confessions of a Six Year Old!!!

I just had to share this! :D

My ds who is 6 just came to me and said, "Mom, I'm very, very, very, very, very, very sorry."

I said, "What did you do?"

He said, "You know that tub on the back porch that has our toys in it?"
(About two months ago after getting tired of picking up their toys for them, I put about half of their toys in a rubbermaid tub on the back porch with strick instructions not to touch it.)

I said, "Yes."

With tears in his eyes, he said, "I'm sorry, but I went out there and got my truck and 4-wheeler."

He handed me his toys and I hugged him. I told him that it was very mature of him to tell me he had done something wrong. I didn't tell him that if he hadn't said anything I would have never known!! 8)

I told ds that he had confessed to me what he had done wrong and that I forgave him. Then I told him that we needed to pray and confess what he did wrong to God and that God would forgive him as well. :D

My ds then said, "Mom, the reason that I told you was because I was thinking about that verse - 'Even a child is known by his actions by whether his conduct is pure and right.' and what I did wasn't right.

Praise the Lord!! :D :D

Thank you, Carrie, once again for such a wonderful program! I felt bad for not finishing everything last year and this was just the encouragement that I needed. God is good!! We may have not finished what my plans were, but I know that he grasped a wonderful truth from God!!

Isn't it amazing how it gets into their heart and the simplest of things can show how deeply they are learning to love and obey Him. :D I love to hear how they apply the Bible verses to their own lives!

Precious! Isn't it amazing what having God's word in our hearts can do? That verse can go for adults too - we are known by our actions too, and God hears our every word - whether they are unspoken thoughts, spoken words, or typed words. He also sees our every action. That's a mighty tall bill to fill, but with God's help we can keep becoming more and more like Jesus. Your little ds just proved that beautifully! :D

In Christ,
Julie

happy@home,

What a wonderful testimony to the way that God's word can change little one's lives. Sometimes the Lord gives us those moments to show us that His will is being accomplished, even though we're not always accomplishing everything WE desire to get done! There is no greater thing you can do than to train your children up in the Lord. :D So, I'm celebrating this moment with you!

I'm so proud of your little guy and his honesty. It's a hard lesson to internalize! :D

Blessings,
Carrie
