1st day of Bigger was great!

We had a great first day! Funny, my dd-7 thought all the "2nd grade stuff" was fun but still didn't enjoy reading to me. I didn't tell her that the Emerging Reader Bible that she was reading was actually a step back.

And she did a great job! She seemed pleased with herself even though she complained a bit. I think the step back and her new reading glasses will be a great combination to restore her confidence. She also said that math was hard but it was okay.
I already have her workboxes set up for Day 2!

Glad to hear your first day doing Bigger went so well!

Ours was great too! DS seemed to enjoy it all! We are doing workboxes too and so far, so good. He liked seeing his boxes "disappear" and being able to see what was coming up next!

Same here! DD is very happy with the workboxes. She loves removing the numbers and putting them on her chart. It has certainly removed stress from my day.

Glad you had a great first day. When my ds complains that "math is hard," I tell him it is supposed to be! If it isn't "hard" then he isn't learning anything.

He's a whiz in math...but laaaazy when it comes to working more than a few problems.
My younger son is reading the Emerging Reader Bible (the easier of the two) and he loves it. It is amazing to me how many times he will stumble on a word like "person" but then read fluently through words like Moses and Egypt!

Judy,
I'm thrilled that you had a great first day with Bigger Hearts!

It sounds like your little honey did a terrific job and that you were very prepared.

Way to go mom!
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm! It's getting me more excited to get organizing!
Blessings,
Carrie
