Dear Sam,
HOD is going to be great for my kids, especially my 7 year old son. I have been reading your posts (some older posts) and I noticed you said your son has aspergers. Our 7 year old son has something going on-definitely. Through homeschooling him and putting a solid plan in place on the homefront (schedule, chores-the same everyday, simplicity in everthing) we have been able to make him quite comfortable. I am suspecting Aspergers as a possiblity for him. If you've noticed, so much of the info. out there on this says the same old thing-poor social skills, strange body posture, lack of eye contact. Then I began finding info. that it can vary so much, and that there are aspies that do not have all of those "typical" symptoms. I noticed in one of your posts you said Nathan was "gentle, energetic" and a few other things. Is it possible that that my son could have such a mild form of it that it might not be as obvious that he has it as some other aspies?? I could share with you if you like what we have noticed with him--the differences from other children. He is very social and can be talkative, but loves to be at home-doesn't seem to have a great desire to meet new people or go new places. But he "wins over" everyone who meets him. I knew from the time he was 18 months old that something was different. We have actually had several people ask if he was gifted. Anyway, I know this is not directly about HOD, but in my quest I thought of you and would love to hear from you. I'm certain you have valuable input. You seem like such a kind person.
If you have time to respond, thank you in advance!!

Liz,
I'll just bump this to the top of the board as Sam is so gracious about helping and encouraging others that I know she'll want to see it.
Blessings,
Carrie
