Has anyone taken the time to type up flashcards for this curriculum?
My son hates the sight of this book, but if I prepare beforehand and do the lesson without referring to the book, he is perfectly fine. Maybe the book is too big and he feels that he will never get to the end of it?
Anyway, I am prepared to make my own cards, files, etc. since I really enjoy this book, but just wondered if anyone has already done this.

Reading Made Easy
I used RME with my oldest, and I made up the flashcards as we went along. We really enjoyed it. I got her her own lap-sized white board and she used colored markers for the writing and drawing exercises. I used different types of pens in making the flashcards to go along with the different types that RME uses for each sound. The Sight Word Bingo game was very helpful. We didn't use any separate readers with RME because all the reading exercises are contained in the book, except that I did read a lot of Dr. Seuss to her. In fact, one of the Dr. Seuss books was the first book she ever read through completely on her own. She's now a strong and avid reader, and has been all along.
We never actually finished RME because, well, she just didn't need it! She took off on her own when we were about halfway through. I kept it for a while, thinking I'd use it again with dd #2, but then when dd #2 got to be that age, I didn't think her "learning style" would fit RME so I sold it. (For which dd #1 has never forgiven me!) In hindsight, it would've been just fine, although I think I would've needed to do the entire book with her. But I think it's all in what you make of it. If you dread it, so will he. Just go one day at a time.
Also, we did this almost entirely sitting together on the couch. It didn't feel like "school" at all. I also used the Italic handwriting with this dd so as to match the style in RME.

Dorla,
I also just wanted to let you know that Reading Made Easy is going to an e-book format available for $25.00 so that you could print each lesson as you go (if you prefer that rather than having the whole book out all of the time).
That may not help at all, but I just thought I'd mention it in case!
Blessings,
Carrie
