We started today too!

Post by MistyP » Tue Aug 04, 2009 6:37 pm

Looks like we have a bunch starting this week! We were out of town over the weekend and got back on Monday so today was our official first day of school. I think it went great and they seemed disappointed when I said we were done for the day! LOL

My little trouble maker, "preschooler", Kindergartner, and First grader!

So far it has gone well. I am debating on the Handwriting for Kindergarten. I got the "A" book because she knows all her letters but I am thinking it may be a little much for her AND she wants to learn cursive like her sister did in K

The 3 yo has sat in on most of the first part and then off to do her own thing....the puzzles she has recently taken an interest in which is wonderful because she is full of energy and she will sit still and work on the puzzle until she gets it done!

Misty,

I loved the pics of your little crew of gals. We have the reverse crew here with 4 boys, so I really enjoyed seeing all of your girl's "girly" outfits! :D

I'm so glad that you had a great first day. We pray that you'll enjoy LHFHG as much as we did last year! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks Carrie!

Our first week has gone well. I must say I am really happy with LHFHG :D The girls have loved all the activity stuff, things that I think are great but not creativity enough to come up with every day! I was talking to my daughter's kindergarten teacher from last year who has been teaching for 30 years. She wants to get a copy of the "Continent Song" to teach her class

I am going to a friend's house tomorrow because she wants to look at my HOD stuff. She has been homeschooling for 7-8 years now.

I told my husband that HOD has exactly what I was looking for but didn't feel like I could pull it all together myself, and the TM is so user friendly. When we were at the HS convention, we really looked at Sonlight and the TM seemed so overwhelming among other things that I felt just didn't measure up to HOD.

Thank you, thank you!!!

Misty,

I'm so happy that the your girls (and you) are getting a chance to use and enjoy LHFHG. We loved it so much last year when we did it with our third little guy. We were honestly sad when it ended. :D

Those early years of schooling are so important and very fleeting! As my last son is on the verge of beginning LHTH, and I can see that I won't always have a baby or even a toddler in the house, I encourage you to enjoy your year to the fullest with LHFHG. A wonderful reminder of how the end of the year can be is found in this precious post by a mom who had just finished LHFHG. I tear up every time I think of it! viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3480

Enjoy your year!

Blessings,
Carrie
