Girl/Boy Interest books for Preparing

I've noticed that Beyond, Bigger, and Creation through Christ all have Boy or Girl interest book packages. I've also noticed that there is not such a list for Preparing. Is there a reason ? Are there plans for adding such a list in the future?
Thanks,
Jenni

The read alouds for Preparing go along with the History theme, instead of being genre-based like in Beyond, Bigger and CTC. (Actually in CTC you get to choose between a history-themed pack, boy or girl interest for the read alouds.)

Jenni,

Good question! We love to give you choices at HOD, so you can best fit your family's particular needs. So, in Beyond and Bigger, you have your choice of Boy, Girl, or Classic Set for read-alouds. In Preparing Hearts, kiddos have a choice between Deluxe and Extension Package for history (depending on their age), so we only had one option for read-alouds in that guide (which was the History Interest Set).

In CTC, since the content matter is so sensitive, we gave a choice of Boy, Girl, or History Interest for read-alouds. There is also an Extension Package, but no deluxe package in that guide. We know it can be a bit confusing, but do find that each guide has its own set of readers and read-alouds that vary in importance, thus the need for variety in the packages. :D

Enjoy!

Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks Carrie. We bought the Deluxe Set and the Extension Package, so I guess we are all set :D
Jenni

I wanted to add that when we ordered last year, we originally ordered Preparing for both of my older boys...that's why we purchased the extension pack. My older ds ended up finishing out the year at ps and my then 9 yo stayed home but we just put Preparing on the shelf and focused on the three R's.
We are going to complete Preparing this year with ds 10 and hopefully my older ds will still sit in on some of the lessons and read some in the extension pack. The books look very interesting!

Jenni,

Sounds good! :D I loved the books in Preparing Hearts when we did it last year with my son. We pray your son(s) will enjoy it too!

Blessings,
Carrie
