New to HOD, placed order yesterday! :-)

Hi, My name is Chandra. I am blessed to be the mother of 5 beautiful children. Noah is 10, Jonah will be 9 on 8-1, Hannah is 4, Luke is 2 and our Angel Sarah would have been turning 13 yesterday. My husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He left last July and it seems just as soon as he left my mother and sister really had a hard time and depended on me for support and lets just say, it was total chaos. The kids and I tried to still get schooling done, but a good potion of the year just seems to have been wasted.. though I know really, no time is wasted with children. BUT I am feeling, or rather WAS feeling really bad and guilty over how we had done. Yesterday I called HOD and placed my order and now instead of feeling guilt I am feeling so excited! I can't wait for our box to get here!!
We are going to be doing the Bigger program with my 10 yo and soon to be 9, and LHTH with my 2 and 4 year old. I look forward to getting to know you all better, and know this is going to be a great year!

Welcome! We are just finishing up that combination of Bigger and LHFHG. You will love it! They go really well together. I can understand feeling guilty about time that was not as productive as you wanted it to be. I think it happens often in ps as well and this year is going to be a lot better. I am sure soon you will no longer feel behind. Thank you for your sacrifice so that families like ours can be free and welcome to HOD!

We are going to be doing Bigger and Little Hands this year. This will be our 2nd year with HOD and it's been wonderful, I hope you love it as much as I do. You didn't waste a year, your children learned a lot about family relationships, being able to count on each other, those are valuable life lessons.

Hi Chandra, and welcome to the board! I enjoyed reading about each of your family members, and I applaud you for taking the time to care for your mother and sister, as well as your dc. Thank you to you and your dh for serving our country. I have 3 sons, and we love using HOD! It makes homeschooling such a satisfying part of our day. We did the Bigger Hearts/ LHTH combo a few years back and had a blast. I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi Chandra!

Welcome! It was so nice reading about your family. It looks like we have children about the same ages! We LOVED Bigger! AND we started LHTH because it was too exciting to not at least try it right after ripping open our box from HOD! We did 1 week - IT was so fun. BUT I made myself put it away until we are back into the school routine - now only 3 weeks away! I too echo Carrie's thanks to you, your family and your beloved husband for serving our country! I can't wait to hear how your schooling with HOD blesses your family as it has ours!
