Question about the bookcovers...

Post by MistyP » Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:45 pm

I have been pouring over our books since we got them and I am meeting up with a friend that wants to see all my HOD stuff this week :D I love it! Carrie has poured so much into it; I think we are really going to like it and am feeling better about switching back and forth between me and DH teaching when I am working....

Anyway, my question is, will the covers to my books hold up okay or can I laminate them or something? What has worked for everyone else?

I am using primarily using LHFHG but also using Beyond for DD #1 reading and LA, so we will be using it 2 years in a row....plus I will probably just save the LHFHG for DD #3 to use in 3 years....

The cover on my LHFHG guide has held up really well considering it has traveled all over this country several times. It has also traveled back and forth between my parent's houses and to dr appointments in a backpack. It doesn't look brand new but it is still in really great shape which is surprising considering the beating it has had this year.

The manuals also have a special kind of binding that allows you to lay them flat open without any worries... :D Enjoy!

I ring bind mine at the beginning of the school at Kinkos for $5. This works great and keeps the cover nice and makes coping easy too!

Thanks Jessica and gratefulmama! That is what I needed to hear...

3 ring binding for only $5? Wow! I will keep that in mind.... That may be really helpful since we are using Little Hearts but the Readers from Bigger for DD #1....

This past thread may help too: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4287

For what it's worth, we just use the books as is with no problems. :D

Maybe it's just us. We're a big family with many little hands. Books fall off tables, get drpped on floors. I'm kicking myself for not ring binding cause my cover looks awful and it's only a few months old:(
