Any Video ideas to add to Preparing?

My ds really remembers things well if he sees them on video. He has had very little American History in the Public Schools so this summer we are watching Liberty's Kids and he is loving it and really learning some things. I was wondering if anyone has found any good videos to supplement the material in Preparing. We have a good library system and we just joined Netflix so we are able to get a lot of things, but I don't even know where to start.

There is a history series of cartoons that is pretty accurate that our library carries. I will look up the name of it when I go back to the library this weekend and edit my post. My kids have already watched Ben Franklin, Pocahantas, Christopher Columbus, Wright Brothers from this series.

The Nest Family DVD's are great - but I'm not sure if you can rent them - they are expensive to buy. Here's a link to their site, so you can see what they look like:

Thanks Julie. I knew my local library had a few of the NEST videos, but I just found out that another library system that is also very close to me has all of the NEST videos. I am able to get a card to that library so I will be able to get those during the year as we study different time periods and people. He will love it.

Hi,
we watched the Planet Earth series. The dessert & Arctic tundra. They enhanced what we learned in science.

Wow that Neok12 site is really cool. I bookmarked that. My son loves Planet Earth and in fact we just watched the desert one last night because we had it on TIVO. I didn't even think about the fact we could save it for when we studied deserts. Oh well he would watch it again I am sure.
