Preparing and Singapore 3B...

Post by butterfly113 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:47 pm

I'm sure someone has asked this before, and if so, please forgive me. We will be using Preparing in the fall and are SOOO excited! We are also switching to Singapore, and have been practicing, reviewing with 3A through the summer. Yet in the guide the schedule for 3A and B are written for 5 days and Preparing Hearts is 4 days. I would really like to keep it to 4 days to do fun, enrichment stuff on the 5th day. Has anyone converted the 3A/B Singapore schedule to a 4 day schedule? If so, how did you do it? Thanks for any advice!

Anyone?

I'm glad you asked this as I haven't ordered my Preparing guide yet and didn't know about this. Even if Math only takes 30 minutes, it'd be nice for dd to have a break one day a week.

Good morning! :D The math schedule suggests just doubling up on 1 day a week, and that's what I would do. The assignments are relatively short at the 3A/3B level, so that shouldn't be a problem. Or, you could just do it 4 days a week and finish it out in the summer or next school year. :D We did this and it worked out just fine. We actually finished PHFHG and will finish the last bit of 3B at the start of CTC next year, and then move into 4A/4B, seeing how far we get. My ds is only 9 turning 10, so I'm comfortable with that. :D
