BOX Day - It's here!!!!

I'm so happy I can hardly stand it! Who knew that getting curriculum in could be so much fun!
My oldest dd, who will be doing Bigger, wanted to read every book we got, tonight! She was flipping through and looking at titles and exclaiming, COOL! We only got the economy package so I could afford to get what we needed for all 4 kiddos, the rest is ready to pick up at the library tomorrow.
Carrie, I just want to say yet again thank you - I picked up the TM and looked through it and felt such a sense of peace I can't begin to tell you. I showed my dh and said "Look, this is all we have to do each day" and I felt like for the first time in a LONG time we will actually be getting something accomplished.
It made me feel so good to look at those nice little boxes and think, I just have to do this and check it off - you all have been talking about Olives and Bettys etc - what does that make me? Where do I do that test to find out? I'm curious now!!!!!
Anyway, just had to share our joy. We start on Monday!

Gina,
Sounds like you are having a great time with your box day! Woohoo!
Who knew those little boxes would be so simple, yet
so effective! It is still hard for me to believe that I only spend 30-60 minutes with my daughter doing HOD and she is absorbing so much. I absolutely look forward to doing HOD everyday, it is really too good to be true!
Here is the Olive/Betty test if you really want to investigate!

Thanks Candice -
I am a Betty through and through - I just posted a reply on that thread because it felt like I had written some of the posts! Finally, I've found a place where I don't feel like I'm the only one like me
I am going to have to share this with a friend of mine who also has a large family and a new little one with another on the way - and tell here THERE IS HOPE! I want to share HOD with everyone now - I can't wait to get through next week and be able to tell my dh for the first time in a very long time that we got a lot done!

Thanks for sharing your box day with us! Getting the guides is like a "spa" moment, isn't it? Like, ahhhhhh, get in the steaming bubble bath and relax... I can DO this! I hope you have a Marvelous Magnificent Monday! (this is my Betty side) However, if it all doesn't go just like you thought it would (here comes my Olive side), remember it may take a week or two to totally get in the groove of things! I really am beginning to think I am bi-polar - a Betty one moment, and an Olive the next! Perhaps it's because my middle sister is 100 % Olive, and my oldest sister is 100 % Betty... oh my, perhaps I'm an Olibet (ha, ha)!
Anyway, bring out the chocolate and celebrate - life is good, and you've got a brand new lease on it starting Monday! So glad you shared!

My3sons -
ROFL!!!!!!!! An Olibet?!!!! That would describe me perfectly I think
I am prepared for it not to be perfect (although my first tendency is to assume just that!), but truly, I am thrilled to just be ready to get going, and it does look so manageable. My oldest can hardly wait to start, and she is the biggest challenge (4th grade - VERY slow worker), so if she is excited that is half the battle already won!
Thanks again for the encouragement - I can't wait to share how we do!

Day one is done! We only did Bigger today because I'm still waiting on a couple of books to get here for the littles, but my oldest dd did ALL her work in less than 2 hours. This is a RECORD for us!
I AM THRILLED! She did most of it self-directed, with me just needing to help in the places that would be expected, so that gives me even more hope that we can get all of it done in a short time.
YIPPEE!!!!!
I can't begin to tell you how relieved I feel!
Just had to share
