Photocopying?

Hi!
I'm all set to run to Staples and photocopy the student pages from LHTH! :D It was SOOOOO helpful to be able to print the alphabet cards from the website. Do the manuals for older kids have a lot of photocopying too? Maybe making those pages available on the website for printing would be helpful for other Moms too? Just something I was thinking about. :)

Question for veteran homeschoolers - do you find that it's just easier to own your own photocopy machine?

I'm not a veteran homeschooler, but since my kids have been in school I have found a photo printer/scanner/copier for my pc to be invaluable. You can pick them up pretty cheap now a days. I got an HP the day after thanksgiving for $29 and it works perfectly for copying my forms and worksheet pages for the kids as well as printing all my pictures. The ink is reasonable also. Once you scan it into the pc, you can just pull it up any time and print without having to pull the book or paper back out.
I too wish that the LHTH had a pdf version you could purchase for the printables. It isn't too bad copying the pages though. Another poster said she just did it all at once to get it over with. I am on Unit 5 and I think I will do that soon also. However, I think LHTH is the only guide that has a massive amount of photocopying required. I have LHFHG and BHFHG and we haven't made any copies yet with either of them.
I wouldn't have minded a student book with the perforated pages needed for LHTH either. I would definitely have purchased it if it would been available. Student pages available on cd or downloadable pdf or a student book already printed...I would have invested in them.
Anyway, purchasing one of the all in one printers that doesn't have expensive ink is well worth the money. I would research it and make sure the ink wasn't super expensive.

I have loved having a copy machine and have also found it invaluable. LHTH is the only manual that requires a lot of copying.

I must have gotten the same deal as Val on my HP all in one printer. And I certainly have enjoyed having the copy feature.

I believe LHTH is the only one that has all the copying. LHFHG and BLHFHG do not have a need to copy.

Ladies,

LHTH is the only one with photocopying required! At two pages a week, LHTH is on the minimal copying level, which keeps any copying needs very manageable. One day, we may work toward having PDF's of the various LHTH pages that can be be purchased and printed off the web, however since LHTH functions well as is, it's pretty far down on the list of "To-Do's".

The rest of our guides don't require copying. And our newest CTC guide comes with Student Notebooking pages (which will be in full-color and are turning out BEAUTIFULLY)! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Jessi, I was able to sit in my jammies and order the printer from WalMart with 97 cent shipping on Black Friday.
