New here and placed my order!

Hello!
I'm new to this board and new to HOD so I just thought I'd introduce myself... my name is Sara and I have two active boys, ages 4 and 6.

I have spent a VERY long time trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my 6-year old this fall. I thought I had settled on Truthquest for history, but after a year of MFW, I'm totally burned out on the library, lol.

Then I thought I would do Sonlight, but it's soooo expensive and I really want to start American history now and do ancients later. Then I decided I would just be "eclectic" and do whatever looks good at the moment. But I have a hard time with that because I get overwhelmed with all the choices out there and I feel like I need some kind of guide. So I started looking through my old catalogs and found my HOD one that I hadn't looked at for months! Something sparked my interest, I prayed about it, and here I am! I just ordered LHFHG today and I can't wait! I love how the history/bible/science are connected and it seems very CM-ish, which I really like. The book selections look great and it looks like there will be enough time in the day to add other books for fun (still drooling over the SL catalog

) I'm really hoping I love it because I would like to find a curriculum I can stick with for the long haul.
Anway, that's my story. Looking forward to getting to know everyone here!
Sara

As any good homeschool mom would ask What is this:
still drooling over the SL catalog
You know a homeschooling mom can't have too many catalogs. Or too many books, or too much chocolate. lol

I sure hope you will enjoy this curriculum as much as we do. It was everything I needed, wanted, and hoped for in homeschooling and some!!! It's written so well, that even Daddy can take over on a day if there is a need and guess what, he may ask to do it again!
Have fun with it and remember it takes a few weeks to get into the groove of things and than will wonder why not every mom wants to homeschool her children through HOD.

i also still drool over the SL catalog.

we did p 4/5 this last year and i plan to use purchase their later cores to have enough books in the house to read (you are right - we can never have too many!

) but, i decided on HOD because i also wanted to do American History first and i think the younger cores are a little heavy for the age group. plus, i love the Bible integration in HOD. i am still trying to fit the Bible into my secular public school framework...i am hoping to save my girls that frustration by setting a Biblical foundation first!
