Re: Is there a materials list already compiled for Preparing?
Oooo, I love to be at the gathering stage - it means an HOD start is just around the corner!
When we did PHFHG, I just read through the introduction and made my shopping list. There are different choices for supplies noted in the introduction. We did the staircase timeline, so I halved some small index cards for that. I bought a 3 ring binder with tabs and clear sleeves. My ds put his notebooking in a section, his experiment lab reports in another, his poetry in another, and I snapped pictures of his history projects (his favorite projects are still on display in his room
). We bought a recipe box and index cards with ABC tabs for his vocabulary as well as a good, thick Webster's dictionary. We also bought composition books with lines, and picked out a neat all-boy looking Common Place book (we got this at Master's Books). Lots of typing paper, some colored construction paper, scissors, a ruler, some index cards, some washable paint, markers, glitter, glue - your basic art stuff. That was it! The rest of it we had on hand in our kitchen or bathroom.
Here is a link to the PHFHG photobook, so you can see what you'll get to be doing and what supplies you may enjoy choosing:
