Would this be a good combination?

DD is 3 and we've been doing LHTH for almost 15 weeks now and she LOVES it. I do it every other day, so 2-3 days a week with supplementary material on the in between days. Most of the supplementation is printout from online, coloring sheets, workbooks that I've purchased from the dollar store, or crafts--all of which ties into whatever we are learning in LHTH that week. I'm going to keep doing the program at half pace until we hit about the halfway mark, and then I'm going to move to doing it 5 days a week for the remaining half of the book so that we can finish our year by the time she turns 4. OR I may continue to do it half pace, which would put us finishing in May of next year(we school year round and take breaks as needed)then take the summer "off" with only supplementary stuff until the fall. THEN I want to cycle back through LHTH again, because I don't think she'll be quite ready for LHFHG, using the older options and with the second set of books(we use A Child's First Bible & Big Thoughts for Little People now, but would use The New Bible in Pictures & ABC Bible Verses next year) to change it up a bit.

My question is, I wanted to add in Before Five in A Row and the Rod & Staff Preschool ABC workbooks to help get her ready for K the next year. Do you think those would work well with LHTH? Any other suggestions to make a second year in LHTH slightly different than the first so she maintains interest?

Dusty,

You may want to consider adding some of the phonics, the K handwriting, the Rod and Staff Workbooks and possibly even the K math (from LHFHG) along with LHTH, thinking through which of these would fit her level well. Then, when she moved into LHFHG the following year, she could do the grade 1 options. Just some food for thought. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
