Any overlapping books?

I was just curious to know if there are any overlapping books in Preparing, CTC, and future stuff for read alouds and extension packages. For instance, I noticed that Pedro's Journal was in the extension package for Bigger and I think I saw it in Preparing. Also, is DITHOR best utilized when you choose books that relate to the time period of the curriculum or designed to be totally unrelated to the time period.
Thanks!
Sarah

Sarah,
Pedro's Journal doesn't actually overlap, as in Bigger Hearts it is used in the Extension Package for older students and in Preparing Hearts it is used in the Deluxe Package for 3rd and 4th graders. These would be two different groups of learners.
Toliver's Secret, By the Great Horn Spoon, and Ben and Me are the only 3 titles I can think of off the top of my head that are used more than once in our guides. Each of these titles is used in two different types of packages, meaning there would be other choices you could use instead. So, you'd never need to come up with your own replacement.
As far as DITHR goes, we've found it best to just use books that interest our kiddos rather than staying to a particular time period when choosing books. Each of the HOD studies has plenty of literature woven within the history study itself, so there's usually no need to have more.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thank you!
Your book choices are so wonderful. My mother used to be an elementary librarian and she loves your book packages. She felt they were age appropriate, quality books that would foster a love for reading in any child. Truly awesome!

Sarah,
That's fun to hear! Librarians are a true treasure-trove of good book knowledge, so I'll take your mom's approval as a high compliment indeed!
Blessings,
Carrie
