Question about when to use R&S English 2....

With my kids being younger when we get to Bigger, and since Rod and Staff English 2 is used more for a 3rd grader.... I am wondering what I should do with my kids for English, since they will be techniqually a 1st and 2nd grader. We are already going to be moving the last 6-7 weeks or so of Beyond into the Bigger year, but I don't think they will be ready for English 2, especially being that it is so advanced. Anyone else have this problem? I don't know if it's just me or what, but I am still worried about how to pace Beyond with the kids. I am doing it 4 days a week and probably taking it into the next year for a bit. But, we will still be on the young side in Bigger. Help!
Thanks,
LeAnna

If you've been doing some of the Lang. Arts portions in Beyond, I highly doubt R&S English 2 will be a problem. It's very simplistic in 2. It's level 3 that gets difficult, so then you may have a problem, but not with 2. If anything do 2 again or use a "filler" till they're ready for 3. But 2 is simple.

Rod and Staff English 2 Is line upon line, precept upon precept. In my 13 years of homeschooling ( we have used or seen
many different curriculums) this is my top pick.
It has the best foundation base that I have seen so far and is taught so that the students grasp the lesson. If you started it now even if you went at half pace, it would be better than giving them filler that didn't explain things as well. If you google Rod and Staff you will see some samples of the lessons and that will help you decide.

You could try it on both, but if it's too hard for your first grader, then drop it and keep going with the 2nd grader.
