Day 3 and loving HOD!!!

Hi everyone!
Early last week I logged on and asked for advice about where to place my dd. Most of the advice I was given was to start her in Bigger. After much prayer, I finally felt at peace with Preparing and that is what we ordered.
So here we are on day 3 and we both love, love, love Preparing. So far, the writing is not a problem (as I thought it might be). In fact, she is feeling challenged by it and is loving it. The reading was never a question as she loves to read and be read to, especially non-fiction and missionary type stories. She loves reading the Bible and learning from it. The science and history are a perfect fit!! I think over the years she has heard enough American history and was ready to move on to world history.
Switching to HOD was huge for us. We used Five In A Row for 2 years (K-1) then switched to all Abeka for 2-3. She and I both really missed the living books and the hands on learning. I felt very lazy teaching Abeka because she could do most of it independently, and I missed the quality time she and I had had with FIAR. We both missed the discussions, the crafts, the books, and more importantly, the time together!!
Thank you, Carrie, for creating a wonderful, easy to use and memory making curriculum!
Blessings,
Lisa
