What I love about HOD

Post by mariaw » Mon Apr 27, 2009 9:58 am

We are using LHFHG for my 4 and 6yo boys, and I LOVE how much it appeals to boys!! There is just enough movement to get their "wiggles" out, my boys LOVE the animal stories (you should have seen them acting out the chapter with Reddy Fox and Farmer Browns Boy with their nerf guns!!), and the crafts and sit-down work aren't too long or involved for this age. Carrie, I can tell you homeschool boys, and I'm so thankful for this curriculum!!

(Not to give the impression that it's ONLY good for boys, I can't keep my 8yo daughter away when I'm teaching the boys. She can't wait to start Preparing next year so she can also do "fun school"!!)
dd9 - Preparing with R&S 3 and Singapore 2
ds7 - LHFHG
ds5 - LHFHG
dd1.5 - in charge of hiding all our pencils

My son isn't old enough for HOD, but I'm glad to hear your little guys love Little Hearts! :D :D :D

You know you've got a good program when it appeals to both girls AND boys!

I couldn't agree more! I'm especially thinking of my middle ds who has the wiggles reminiscent of jello. He wiggles his way through rooms, up stairs, and even somehow does it just standing still. HOD's attention to the need for movement at young ages especially, make it an A+ program in my ds's eyes. I'm so glad your boys (and soon also your dd) are enjoying it too!

mariaw,

Thanks so much for the encouragement! :D My boys thrive with the short lessons, movement, and hands-on activities in our guides, so I'm glad to hear your boys are loving it too! :D On the other hand, my sisters girls have loved it every bit as much, so I guess girls get the wiggles sometimes too!

Seriously though, you filled my cup today! :D Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Carrie
