One other question about how to proceed

As I was reading through all of the information, it occurs to me that I am not sure what I am going to do after we finish this first pass through LHFHG and Bigger. I think it will be awkward to have one child doing Preparing (world history) and 3 children doing Beyond (American history).

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Here are the ages of my children again, if that helps:

4th grade (10 this summer)
1st grade (7 this summer)
Kinders x2 (6 in the fall)
Pre-K (4 yrs now)
2.5 yrs
4 mos

Is anyone planning on doing two packages such as this and is that going to be too difficult? I am really loving the idea of being able to combine as much as possible. Maybe I am just stressing about nothing - that is entirely possible!

Thanks for any input,

Gina

I had to laugh when I read your post. If you have 3 doing Am. and 1 doing World it will be the exact opposite of what you will be doing now....with LIttle Hearts you will have 3 doing World history and you will have one doing Am. history with Bigger. Sooo.....if it's not awkward the first time around, you should be fine the next year! :D

I don't think I ever said "howdy" to you on the other thread. I, too, have twins and a single combined! We're just on Little Hearts, but I have Beyond sitting on the shelf ready to go!

Sending relaxing thoughts your way! 8)

I guess that shows how much I DON'T know about what I'll be doing!!!

Thanks for the encouragement - I think I just need to get it and get started and quit stressing. I don't usually stress about stuff, but for whatever reason this is the thing that is doing it. I think because I am so frustrated with what we have not accomplished so far this year. I'm ready to be going forward!

That is the advice we all need really. Glad you found some peace. You are going to love it no matter what levels you do. They are all awesome!

I totally agree with Melanie and Water2wine! We are doing 2 programs now, and I think it's going great. I also think it will be so nice for you to have some alone time with your oldest, especially as puberty and becoming a teenager are looming around the corner. I think that is a very important time to remain connected with our dc, and having a separate program will allow you to separate, more in-depth Bible discussions already planned into your day. It'll be fun to get to know you more - glad you're here!

Gina,

The ladies gave you such wonderful advice! :) There are actually quite a few of us on the board doing both LHFHG and "Bigger..." this year, who will eventually be moving into doing both "Beyond..." and "Preparing....". I am one of them!

My kiddos have been on a different history rotation from each other for awhile now, and it's no big deal. They have other things we do together that they enjoy as much such as poetry, hymns, read-alouds, composer study, art appreciation, audio books etc.

So, many of us will be moving up right along with you.

Blessings,
Carrie

Yeah! I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I am really excited to get started, which is a change from the stress of the past few months - thank you Carrie for this curriculum! Since Zack, our newest blessing, was born, I have felt like I just can't do this. I truly appreciate you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating something that looks to be exactly what I need.

I can't wait to get our first week done and tell my dh that we are FINALLY going forward again!

Gina,

We're excited for you too! :D Here's hoping that our guides can take care of the planning for you, so you can just pick up and teach! There's always a learning curve with any new program, but we pray that ours will be a shorter curve than most!

Blessings,
Carrie
