Decision made! Thanks for the advice and prayers.

Post by angela&4boys » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:17 pm

After restraining myself from hitting the order button for some time, I have decided I will place my order today.

I feel at peace with the decision to use BHFHG for our newly turned 9yo (Ben) and plan on beefing up history for our 12yo (Aaron). I also plan to use the right side of CTC for Aaron so that he can use the well-planned language arts and science components and much of it will be independent.

The plan to continue studying God's Word together along with history is so important to us and we can do it with Bigger. Also, having the boys do their own science studies and becoming more independent is so exciting. The fact that everything is planned out is just the icing on the cake. The only thing I'm still unsure about is grammar, but I've narrowed down to two and know that answer will come to me soon.

Again, thank you so much... especially Carrie, Julie, ShellyM, and Rebecca. (Forgive me if I've neglected to mention a particular name. ) Honestly, I could do kartwheels!!!

In Him,

Woo Hoo!!!1 I'm so excited for you!

I'm sure you are so relieved to have made a decision and finally push that order button :D It sounds like you have found a nice mix to meet your boys' needs. That's what seems so appealing about HOD, flexible enough to make it work for our own unique families.

I am pretty sure what I am going to do, but now I just need to sell some curriculum so I can order too. I think I will be getting CTC with the extension for my 12 yo, and Beyond for the 7 yo, still praying about LHTH for the almost 4 yo.

Angela, may you and your boys have a fun year doing HOD!

Blessings,
Shelly

That's great to hear, Angela! :D Now, with shaking hands you can punch that order button with gusto - HOORAY! I do think it is important to pray about placement, always consulting God first, and then also this board is incredibly helpful. You have done that, so I know the peace you are feeling is from the Lord. I'm celebrating your decision with you - and I can't wait for you to dive in!

In Christ,
