20 views and no answer! Come on, gals. You obviously don't realize that I have DITHOR books spread out all over the floor of my bedroom and I need to get some sleep tonight. Help a girl out.

I would probably place these all as historical fiction. Shakespeare Stealer could also fit under Adventure or Mystery.

I would guess how you have it would work. I don't have the books but I am sure I will have them by the weekend. HOD seems to have quick delivering services.

My problem is going to keep DD from reading them before I want her to. Does it say on the back of the book what genre they are? I just recently discovered that some of the books that we have will say genre they are.

Daisy I would place them as you do. I think Tirzah would also be historical fiction as well. Sometimes they can be placed in more than one category. I think you have them placed properly. I found a site online that placed it that way as well. I think you have it well placed. I think a lot of the good ones fall into Historical Fiction but they learn so much with that one.

Yeh, that is what I figured. I think 80% of our books are historical fiction. That's what my daughter loves so I'm trying to find books that maybe fit into another category. LOL.

Did you get her $5 book list. It has some suggestions there for higher level reading. I know you have already checked the bookstore portion of HOD but just in case mentioning it. It probably does not have enough higher level reading for your daughter but the list does if you do not have it. There is a fair amount in the 6/7/8/ level and these are books that have been screened for contend and are categorized by genre. It might be worth getting for you. I love it mostly because I know the books have been looked at for content.

Daisy,
I'm still catching up on posts on the board since we've gotten back from our latest convention, but I would agree with the ladies that Tirzah, Little Miriam, and Buffalo Knife all fit best in historical fiction. However, you could place Buffalo Knife in adventure if desired, as it has quite a bit of adventure in it as well.

Shakespeare Stealer is quite mysterious, so it should work for mystery pretty well. It also would work for adventure or historical fiction.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks everyone. I think I'll make Shakespeare Stealer the mystery selection and let her pick from the others which she is just dying to read now and what we can save for DITHOR.
