Hi, we are big fans of Answers in Genesis (visited the Creation Museum as soon as it opened!) and bible believing Christians who believe in the young earth viewpoint(earth being about 6,000 years old). Does the HOD science hold that belief, another or just ignore the subject? Just curious!

YES! Carrie has even included Ken Ham's Dinosaurs of Eden in the newest guide coming out in August as well as a couple of John Tiner's Exploring series.

It leans toward it but lets other parents know what to skip if they do not hold that view. This a huge issue for me and I am very comfortable on how HOD handles it. We also are Answers in Genesis fans you will love it.

Way cool!!!! I was toying with the idea of doing 2 sciences. Like doing all the science in HOD and also buy the AIG God's Design for Science to supplement because it is my ds favorite subject. We'll be doing Little... and Preparing... for my 2 dc beginning in Aug. Anyone else do anything like that or is it overkill?

I kinda think it would be overkill. We prefer to buy the AIG DVD's and "fun" books to suppliment our science. Keeps it informal. AIG's God's Design for Science really is a full science program. I bought a few of the books in the old edition and before AIG started carrying them.

I have not done Preparing yet but we extra Science and for us it is not too much. There is plenty in the program but I am like you Science was my field once upon a time before kids so I enjoy teaching it and the kids love it too. I think it is a personal thing as to how much is too much. I would try it as is and then see if you feel like you want to add.

Carrie also does a good job of giving the heads-up when something comes along that may be questionable. For example, in Seashore, I believe she had something in parenthesis that said, "Note evolutionary content on page 16," or something like that.
