DITHOR - Picking books

Hello! I think I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill, but i thought I'd ask my question anyway
I purchased DITHOR and have been looking over it for about a week now. I am so excited to get started, and I have a couple books picked out, but I'm not sure where to place them (which unit). This is probably the perfectionist in me coming out, but would "The Secret Garden" be realistic fiction, or a mystery? I was leaning toward mystery, but now I'm not sure. It could also be historical fiction. Help!
Am I making this too hard (if you say yes, I can take it

)?
Blessings!

I'm doing the same thing right now - trying to figure out what genre my books fit in.
As far as Secret Garden I would vote for historical or realistic ficiton. I assume it takes place in "a time period from the past" but I don't remember that being mentioned in the book. I don't think it is mystery because there isn't really a "puzzling situation with a problem to be solved."
Let us know what you decide.

The book takes place at the turn of the 19th century, and begins in India. Mary's parents and their entire household die of Cholera and she's sent to a long lost relative in England. I think I'm going to put it in the Historical Fiction Category. I know it's not totally immersed in the history of the time, but since it's historical?? I don't know!??

I'm going to look at the activities for the specific genres today and decide that way. The mystery aspect of the book is, there's a Garden than no one has been in for over 10 years, there's strange noises in the house that everyone denies hearing, but Mary knows they're lying to her, and she never sees her Uncle. No one will talk about the garden but Mary finds the key and lets herself in. I have to finish it this weekend

. I'll let you know how it ends LOL!
Blessings!

My advice, if it pains you, buy the book suggestion guide. You can't go wrong there! And it will also show you where your book falls as far as the levels, which I have found so helpful.
