Creation to Christ question

I've been pouring over CTC and reading the book excerpts, and I'm a little nervous. The readings seems to jump in difficulty quite a bit from Preparing. Is this anyone else's take? I was reading from The Story of the Ancient World and the two Streams of History books, which are scheduled for independent work, and they just seem...difficult. Maybe I didn't get enough of a look at them? Of course, it was 1 a.m when I was reading them, so maybe that was it.

Mom25,
The readings are actually less intimidating when you have the books in hand. Kiddos who read the Deluxe Package or Extension Package books for Preparing Hearts should be well-suited to read them on their own. However, if your child does falter in that area you can take the readings over and do them as read-alouds for a time instead. We keep the readings bite-sized (CM-style) which really makes a big difference.
I know it's hard to imagine that kiddos in Creation to Christ will already be 4th and 5th graders (at the youngest) and 6th-7th graders on the older side! The reading level does step up from the K-3 years.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thank you, Carrie! My kids did fine with the Deluxe package in Preparing, so thank you for the encouragement. I will look at the samples again when I'm more alert!
