Would any of the Extension Package Books in Bigger Hearts be appropriate as Read Alouds for a very mature 2nd grader? I purchased these in order to include my oldest son (a 5th grader next year) in Biggers but now we are considering placing him in CTC and I don't want to send the books back if we will use them. I thought I may be able to use some as read alouds for my son who will be doing Biggers (a 2nd grader then) and some for the DITHOR lessons for my 5th grader who would be doing CTC. I guess I could figure out the genre of the books fairly easily, so I'm thinking we'll be able to use them eventually. I love them. They are great books but I haven't read enough of them to know if they are ok for read-alouds for my youngest. He is very mature and enjoys chapter books.

Thanks for any feedback.

We don't use Eploring Planet Earth or the Childs Story of Ameri ca book. But we use the rest of the extension pack as read alouds. My 8 and 6 year olds are riveted and never want to stop. :D

Thanks, Lee Ann!
That's exactly what I was thinking... using the books other than those two as read-alouds.
Blessings.

Donna,

We have more moms who do exactly what netpea mentioned and find it works well! :D
